What the platform is

Sichao is a tool for building business systems for different customers. The business tables can be completely different. What stays is how a page is described, how SQL runs, and how permissions sit on top.

The production, order, and stock tables in this repository are this customer’s data. They are not modules shipped with the platform. These docs describe the platform. Fields on a customer table, and where a status comes from, belong in that customer’s implementation notes.

A business screen usually does not start from an empty frontend and backend:

  1. Write page JSON in sys.page_def for the components, columns, and buttons.
  2. Write the read and write SQL in sys.page_sql.
  3. At runtime the plus/ engine draws the JSON as DevExtreme components and runs the allowed SQL through /sql/run.

A screen the built-in components cannot express (scan-to-report, for example) is an extension page on disk. It still uses the same SQL allowlist. See Two kinds of pages.

This describes the platform. One customer’s business tables are not in these docs.
